We of craplandia are utterly pleased to present to you a fine provider of Internet products, streaming to you over itty bits of copper and strands of glass fibers as thin as a hair. Running on a
Linux server in
Max Kelley's home in Western New York State, we provide a spectacular experience for your remote shell needs.
A few years ago, Max set out with a dream to fill his room with exquisite server equipment and raised floors. He decided to set up SSH on his
workstation and installed Apache2 and other fun server implements.. Eventually, his personal computer became a swelling nodule of packet transportation to the point where it was getting in the way of his users whenever he wanted to modify his personal machine. He set out to various places in the real world to find a spare computer to run his server things on. Well, it didn't exactly happen, but what did happen was this: Through the generous donation of a computer by his neighbors, a 1.4ghz P4 became christened as herbie (in the namesake of his neighbor, Herb Royer), and became the successor to the one of the finest serving platforms ever made. Sort of. And that brings us to today, and you, browsing this hypertext anomaly, streamed to you over those itty bits of copper and fiber, directly from Max's closet. Just like it was meant to be. (That makes it sound like the label on an organic foodproduct, huh?)
